DEDICATION OF NEW ADMIN BUILDING

Thank you all for coming. My name is Dennis Piedimonte and I am Chairman of the Board of the Genesee Valley Regional Market.

The Market opened in 1956 with Bill Mulligan, Sr. as the manager. The Market struggled in the early days and was almost sold in 1958. Mulligan and Joe King started signing land leases with companies like Truckstops of America, R.G. Engineering, Monro Muffler, Palmer Foods, and Lincoln First Bank. These land leases helped the Market get on the right financial track.

Excellent tenants are a major reason the Market is successful. We have also had excellent employees who have been dedicated to the Market. Over the years, we’ve had outstanding members on our Board of Directors. People like Mo Levinson from Star Markets, John Tirabassi, and Herb Smith. We’ve also been fortunate to have excellent contractors like the LeFrois Company who built this building.

Today we are dedicating the new Administration Building to the Mulligan family. Bill Sr., Bill Jr. and Helen have all made major contributions to the success of the Market Authority. They have worked many years always striving to improve the Market facility.

Thank you all for coming and please enjoy the new building.
